I use the Demographic Quick Facts page quite a bit and want to export the data to an Excel file of my choosing. Is it possible to have an Excel template already created and download the PCensus data into this template?

The export process cannot link directly to Excel templates.

Several users have been able to overcome this limitation as follows:

  1. Create a multi-sheet xls workbook, with the first work-sheet set up with your desired content and formatting.
  2. Export a profile page from PCensus to Excel
  3. Select the entire worksheet from your export file, and copy and paste it to the second worksheet of your formatted workbook.
  4. Populate the data fields in your formatted sheet using references to the pasted data in the second worksheet.

Because the profile worksheet exported from PCensus always has the same layout, you can refresh the data in your worksheet by pasting new exported files into the second sheet.

The attached worksheet gives a simple example of the process descibed above.
